Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, proper training is essential for workplace fire safety and emergency response. This face-to-face course delivers the nationally recognised unit CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment, ensuring you are equipped with the essential skills to identify, assess, and extinguish small workplace fires safely.

What You’ll Learn
Identify different classes of fire (A, B, C, D, E, F).
Select the appropriate extinguisher for each fire type.
Safely operate fire extinguishers using the PASS technique.
Use fire blankets effectively.
Implement emergency evacuation procedures.
Apply post-incident procedures and reporting.
Maintain workplace safety during fire emergencies.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment and are eligible to act as part of a workplace emergency response team.
Requirements
Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Residency: Proof of WA residency (e.g., WA driver’s licence or utility bill).
ID: Valid Photo ID (Passport, Driver’s Licence, or Proof of Age Card).
USI: Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Language: Conversational level of English for reading, responding, and interpreting safety information (No translators permitted).
PPE: Enclosed footwear is required. All other PPE (Safety glasses, gloves) will be supplied.
Physical: Physical capability to handle firefighting equipment (extinguishers).
Re-enrolment Policy
Participants must complete all components of the course within the allocated timeframe. Failure to achieve competency may require re-enrolment and payment of associated fees.
The Assessment Includes:
Theory assessment (Fire classes and safety procedures).
Practical fire extinguisher operation.
Demonstration of fire blanket use.
Emergency response scenarios.
Verbal questioning on safety protocols.

Statement of Attainment: Issued by All West Training within 3–7 business days of passing.
